Session: AWS/MLH: A Framework for Onboarding Open Source Contributors
This real-world example of open source (OS) at work will provide attendees vital insights into the role open source software (OSS) plays for business and the ROI associated with investing in the next generation of OS citizens. Though it’s not always clear to leadership teams how investing in OSS will benefit the business itself, OSS is vital to many companies and relies on a strong, talented software development community.
Together, Matt Auerbach (AWS, Amplify) and Max Mizzi (Major League Hacking, Open Source Fellowship) will share more about OS community productivity and how over just 12 weeks a dozen new developers:
- Were onboarded to an OS project and built the skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a remote working environment
- Closed over 40+ GitHub issues, directly impacting live AWS Amplify customers.
