Session: Accelerate Local Development on Kubernetes Using Telepresence
Many organizations adopt cloud native development practices with the goal of shipping features faster. However, committing & seeing the impact of code changes in a containerized environment like Kubernetes is not as fast as a monolithic environment.
With monolithic environments, developers are able to adopt web frameworks, IDEs, or custom tools that enable “hot reloading”. But with containerized environments, you have to wait for containers to build, be pushed to your registry, and then deployed to a CI or production environment before seeing the impact of your code changes. And this makes the fast inner development loop we once knew become a distance memory.
In this talk, I’ll share how developers can use a Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) proxying tool called Telepresence to enjoy the benefits of building microservices and using Kubernetes while maintaining a fast feedback loop.
