Philip works as a Developer Advocate for Meta Open Source focusing on Big Data projects including PrestoDB. Since starting at Meta, he has created content both in written as well as video format. Philip has worked in the Department of Defense on unmanned systems, big data, and cyber security monitoring projects, has been a lifelong teacher, and before joining Meta advised and participated in several startups ranging across 3D printing, digital transformation, and educational technology. In every organization and team he has been a part of, he has advocated for diversity, healthy and empowering team dynamics, and always aims for maximizing the positive impact no matter how small that any project or group can have.

Outside of work Philip is an event organizer, volunteer, DJ, rock climber, dancer, and tutor.
