Performance, extensions, reliability, transactions, data types, oh my! By choosing Postgres, you get many things for free, but do we know what we get for free? Not like free-as-in-beer, but free-as-in-abilities. Did you know that Postgres chooses an optimal query execution plan based on statistics? Do you know what makes Postgres data reliable?
